Behold The Lolo

An Adaptive Guitar That You Don't Need To Hold!

Hand Cut, Carved, Welded and Printed... Building The Lolo prototype.

Picking the wood was a no brainer.

You have to go with the tried and true wood selection of luthiers for a century.

Choice maple went into the strainge, solid body accoustic guitar.

Th design just fell out of my head given the tools I had on hand.

Hand carving the headstock with my grandfather was a ton of fun.

Cleaning the carpet in his room after was a pain... and his blankets, and pillows, chairs and counters.

Finished the design, cut out and head stock the day before my granfather passed away in New Mexico.

Brought it to the Ozarks and began the fabrication of the custom slide handle.

Working with rod, a metal cutting blade and a welder to give the handle its shape for stability.

Some of the components were a little tricky.

Welding washers on the ends of cold rolled steel takes a little practice. I melted my fair share before getting it right.

It needed to be adjustable. Hello all-thread.

One side at a time.

The sign says it all. Welding it up takes time.

A couple of adjust nuts and holy cow! It works!

Slides like a dream.

We wanted it to be a self contained unit so it was time break out the solder.

Battery and A/C powered!

Couldn't have done it without master electronics guru, Michael Ireland.

All it needed at this point was a resonance box. It's what makes it a true accoustic guitar.

It needed a lovely maple cover.

Maybe a hole for the speaker.
